6. Ink Arbors
With the SNAP 700, loading ink ribbons is quick and easy. The ink arbor has a slot with centering pins at either end. The operator aligns the splines inside the ink core with the slot on the arbor, and pushes the core all the way on. The knob is then turned to close the pins on the core, which to centers it and holds it in place. This allows the arbor to control of the ink core for proper back tension which reduces wrinkles and provides better print quality.
