Avery Dennison President and CEO Addresses FRID in Fashion 2009 Conference

Dean A. Scarborough, president and chief executive officer of Avery Dennison Corporation, hosted a special presentation and discussion during the RFID in Fashion 2009’s Leadership Forum, an invitation-only event for senior-level executives from retail, apparel, footwear and accessories companies. Avery Dennison was the show’s Cornerstone Sponsor.

 

In addition to Scarborough, Rose Depoe, Global Director RFID Strategic Solutions and Alliances, discussed item-level RFID adoption within retail and shared results based on Avery Dennison's deep experience working with leading early adoptors. Based on these experiences, Rose provided insights into why the fashion industry should adopt item-level RFID and how implementation positively affects the financial bottom line. Finally, she touched on how to extend and leverage RFID investments into other existing areas of the retail operation.

 

Avery Dennison is the apparel industry’s leading supplier of RFID technology and currently provides 90% of RFID tags used in the apparel fashion retail environment. During the two-day conference, brand owners and retailers of apparel and footwear were able to engage in item-level RFID demonstrations and meet with top Avery Dennison executives to discuss their RFID labeling needs.

 

On the evening of August 12, Avery Dennison hosted an invitation-only cocktail reception in partnership with Motorola at a separate venue, 230 Fifth, located at 230 Fifth Ave., NYC.
